Automotive Powertrain
SPS has extensive experience in both variable and attribute, and bench, semi-automatic, and automatic gaging of automotive drivetrain components including engine shafts, bearings, sleeves, camshafts, crankshafts, cylinder heads, engine blocks, pistons, connecting rods, manifolds, and most transmission and differential componentry.
Electronic products typical for automotive powertrain applications are contingent on plant environment and budget. The ProMeasure 1100e workstation is best suited for very industrial applications where fluids and other contaminants are present. The ProMeasure QK800 Series,all-in-one, and DV1200 Series, processor with external monitor, are suitable for applications with fewer contaminants and lower budgets. Also a New Series of Computers/Displays, Digital Indicator, and Digital Probes are available and listed on the website.
Both digital and analog gaging transducers are typical, with selection based on measured part, budget, number of masters used, and any plant standard. Digital gaging transducers require only a single or mean master and analog gaging transducers require a min and a max master. When pricing is a concern, the lowest cost can be calculated by totaling the cost of the transducer, interfacing and masters. Again this will vary depending on measured part.
